Work Schedule: Hours and shift schedule will vary, and can fluctuate seasonally.

Level of English Required: Intermediate to High.

Start Dates: May/June (Summer), October/November (Winter).


Cook/Commis 1’s play a vital role in the overall success of the culinary team and the restaurants within the resort. Your role as a Cook/Commis 1 is to provide exceptional service and support the culinary team behind the scenes. The care you devote to all aspects of food preparation will result in the creation of spectacular cuisine!


Job Duties:

    • Motivate & train apprentices & coworkers.


    • Work within budgeted guidelines.


    • Prepare an adequate level of mise-en-place based on business levels.


    • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.


    • Prepare and cook special meals for clients as instructed by Chef.


    • Oversee subordinate personnel in preparation, cooking and handling of food.


    • May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements.


and costs, and monitor and order supplies.


    • Follow the resorts policies and procedures and adhere to the grooming policies.


    • Other duties as required.



Required Experience:

    • Willingness to learn new skills, great attention to detail.


    • Strong organizational and communication skills.


    • Inter-provincial Red Seal or 
equivalent education/ 
experience an asset.


  • Food Safe Certification.
    • 1-2 years of supervisory experience; 2-3 years in high volume kitchen 


    • Self-motivated, positive team player.


    • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.

End Dates: 15-03-2020 until 15-04-2020
