 Expected Hourly Wage: Dependent on Resort and level of Skills/Experience

Work Schedule: Hours and shift schedule will vary, and can fluctuate seasonally

Level of English Required: Intermediate to High

Start Dates: May/June (Summer), October/November (Winter)


As the Pastry Chef you play a vital role in the overall success of the culinary team andthe restaurants within the resort. Your role as a Pastry Chef is to provide exceptional service and support the culinary team behind the scenes. The care you devote will result in the creation of spectacular pastries and desserts!


Job Duties:

    • Plan and direct food preparation and cooking 


    • Estimate food requirements.


    • Instruct cooks in preparation and new cooking 
techniques; ensure quality of food and portion control.


    • Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets 
and special functions and plan and arrange food 
requirements for these functions.


    • Create new recipes and design chocolate & sugar 


    • Knowledgeable in the latest trends of: pastries, 
desserts, sugar work, chocolate work, cake decorations, showpieces, art pieces, competitions, pralines. 


    • Requisition food & kitchen supplies and equipment.


    • Schedule staff, supervisor, cooks and chefs.


    • Maintain records of food costs, consumption, sales 
and inventory.


    • Follow the resorts policies and procedures and adhere to the grooming policies.


  • Other duties as required.

Required Experience:

  • Willingness to learn new skills, great attention to detail
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.


    • Inter-provincial Red Seal or equivalent education/ experience an asset.


    • Food Safe Certification.


    • 2 years experience in a similar role.


    • Self-motivated, positive team player and strong leader.


    • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
